North East With Dogs

Home / Cottages / Northumberland

Northumberland is the biggest draw for a dog holiday in the North East: miles of sandy beaches, castles you can walk to, Hadrian's Wall and empty hills. Most cottages are along the coast between Alnmouth and Bamburgh, so book early for summer, or look inland at Rothbury, Wooler and the Tyne Valley for more choice and quieter walks.

Below, each area has links to dog-friendly cottage searches, plus dog-friendly pubs and days out nearby with their dog rules, so you know where the dog can come with you once you're there. Before you book, run through our checklist.

Ad Links marked Ad go to cottage booking sites we have an affiliate deal with (Snaptrip and holidaycottages.co.uk). If you book, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We don't check their cottages the way we check the places on this site, so read each cottage's pet rules and fees before you book. Nothing on this site is ranked or described differently because of it.
