Beamish, The Living Museum of the North

From the official site

A huge open-air museum of North East life, with a 1900s town, a pit village, a working colliery yard, steam trains and trams. Dogs can come along for most of the day out.

Dog rulesOn leads

Dogs on a short lead are welcome across the outdoor site and get in free. Indoors, dogs can only go into the transport exhibits, the 1820s Waggonway and Great Shed, the 1900s Colliery Yard (not the drift mine), Rowley Station, the Sun Inn and the Entrance building. On trams and buses dogs ride on the lower deck, off the seats, at the conductor's discretion. No dogs at evening events (assistance dogs excepted).
